Downloading and Using the VPN Client Software for Access to Library Databases at Home

Step One:  You can check out client installation disks from the Library circulation desk or go to the Computer Center (Room 123 Dickason Hall) for them.  Install the program onto your home computer.

Or download the VPN software to your flash drive or laptop from a campus computer.

To download from a campus networked computer:

Go to Start (lower left of screen), then to Run.

    Type in:  \\bscserver\vpn

Click on Setup and follow installation instructions.

Icon will appear on desktop.

Step Two:  Run the program to get access to the BSC network

    Instructions:

    Click the VPN Client icon.

Click Connect with BSC highlighted.

Type in your network username and password (the same one used to log into computers on campus).

Click Continue on the Welcome Screen.

At this point a VPN tunnel has been established and you are logged in to the BSC Network, which allows you to run on-campus applications like Lexis-Nexis.  Staff can also use remote desktop to connect to office computers and file.
