Teacher
Education Program Description
Teacher
Education graduates are
prepared specifically to
be managers of the learning
environment for pupils coming
from the various sociological,
economic, and cultural backgrounds
that characterize the population
of this region. With the
mandates of No Child Left
Behind (2001, 2002) as a
major focus, graduates are
competent to select and
assemble appropriate learning
resources and to assess
and address the needs of
all students. They are trained
to make good use of, and
reflect upon, their knowledge
of the intellectual, physiological,
social and emotional potentialities
of students at various stages
of development through a
well-defined program of
content, pedagogy, and clinical
experiences.
