General Information

The School of Nursing and Allied Health offers degrees in nursing and radiologic technology. Programs offered include: baccalaureate and associate degrees in nursing and the associate degree in radiologic technology.

In order to comply with accreditation standards, it is necessary to restrict enrollment in the nursing and radiologic technology. Students are admitted to these programs once a year. The radiologic technology program starts in May while the nursing programs begin with the Fall semester. Applications for admission consideration can be submitted from September 1 through December 15 for the next year’s programs. Deadline for file completion is January 31 of the year for which admission is sought. Students entering any of these health care programs must have a physical examination and documentation of necessary health screening. Students must purchase uniforms and other equipment particular to the program. Students are responsible for transportation to and from the College and health agencies utilized for clinical experience.

Accreditation

OPPORTUNITY FOR THIRD PARTY COMMENTS

The Bluefield State College Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) Program will undergo an accreditation evaluation by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) in November, 2008.

Any affected parties, including students, alumni, faculty, and the practice community have the opportunity to provide written input into the deliberations of the evaluation team.  Interested parties are invited to submit written and signed third-party comments to:
