When Bluefield State’s campus-based student housing program ended in the 1960s, a number of area landlords stepped-in to make houses, apartments, mobile homes and single rooms available to BSC students. The demand for alternative, off-campus housing has grown over the years, to the point that College officials have recognized the need to make available to students contact information for landlords who have provided assurances that their rental properties meet accepted environmental, safety and security standards, and have requested to be listed on the BSC website. Contact information for area landlords who have provided such assurances is reflected below. Current and prospective BSC students who are searching for housing are encouraged to contact landlords through the information provided.
Students are urged to make arrangements for a tour of prospective rental properties, and to ask pertinent questions, prior to signing rental or lease agreements. (Note: Some participating landlords provide statements of assurances for selected properties only. Prospective student renters/lessees are encouraged to request that Property Managers show them only those properties covered by the statement of assurance.) The College assumes no responsibility, other than to list contact information for landlords who have provided the assurances referenced above. The contact listings are not presented in any prioritized order, other than the sequence in which the assurance statements were received by the College.
This link is updated on a continuing basis as appropriate information is received from additional landlords.
