American History:
- American Memory contains a group of exhibits and collections assembled by the Library of Congress. It makes hard-to-find primary source documents available, and adds informative introductions and comments.
- The History Net---American Histoy provides articles and book reviews on American history, compiled by the National Historical Society.
- The American War Library information on all U.S. Military missions since the birth of the nation.
World History :
- HyperHistory An award winning project, presenting 3000 years of world history with a combination of colorful graphics, lifelines, timelines, and maps.
- HORUS' History Links presented by Department of History, University of California, Riverside; provides web links to history resources organized by country, time, and place. It features breadth and depth of coverage, and is a good place to start for the study of any era or place in history.
History Magazines on the Web :
- The History Net contains articles on variety of historical topics from several current history magazines. It also has a daily quiz and a "Today In History" feature.
- History Today A good history magazine for the non-specialist. It's published in the United Kingdom, but its focus is not limited to British history. Several articles from each issue are available via the web; the rest are available through interlibrary loan.

- This Day in History sponsored by The History Channel.
- Today in History sponsored by the Library of Congress.
- The TLC Time Machine maintained by a student at the California University of Pennsylvania. It has a mixture of world history facts, celebrity birthdays, quotations, and a brief historical essay for each day.
- Today in Black History has several historical facts for each day, and a list of links to additional black history sites.
