This site has links to a massive amount of data on West Virginia economic data. Many links provide county and metropolitan statistical area information. Check here for monthly employment and unemployment data, wage data, occupational safety and health statistics, occupational projections, personal income and per capita personal income by county, and the ten largest employers by county. Although some of the information relies upon the U.S. census, taken every ten years, the employment data is the most current available. Much of the information is also published in paper form, such as the West Virginia Economic Summary monthly newsletter.

Also provides census information relating to West Virginia in an easy-to-use interface.

This site identifies the major watersheds in West Virginia and provides data about them in both map and chart form. Facts are included such as population per square mile, percentage of land that's been developed at high and low intensities, number of underground mine and quarry permits, chemical releases to the water, and the proportion of watershed that is wetlands, forest, and crop use.
