PLEASE NOTE: PRIOR TO USING THE WEB FOR COURSE SELECTION, EACH CURRENTLY ENROLLED BSC STUDENT WITH LESS THAN 96 CREDITS, WILL NEED TO SEE THEIR FACULTY/ACADEMIC ADVISOR TO OBTAIN A REGISTRATION PIN NUMBER AND DEVELOP A TENTATIVE FALL ACADEMIC SCHEDULE.
1. Go to the Bluefield State College homepage at www.bluefieldstate.edu
2. Click on current students.
3. Click on the link to Web Self Service under Academic Support/Student Resources
4. Choose Enter Secure Area
5. You will be asked to enter a User ID and Pin- For User ID, enter your Social Security Number with no spaces or dashes. For Pin, enter your birth date in MMDDYY order with no spaces, slashes, or dashes. If your month or day of birth is less than 10, precede the number with a 0. For example, 010176 is January 1, 1976.
6. Next, you will be asked to re-enter your old pin, which is your birth date and then enter a new pin, which must be six numbers (no more, no less). Be sure to remember your pin because you will always need it to log on.
7. Finally, you will be asked to create a security question and answer. This will be used in case you forget your pin. If you answer this correctly, your pin will be reset back to your birth date and you will begin all over again.
8. Once you have established your user ID and Pin, choose Student Services and Financial Aid and then select Registration.
9. When entering courses, enter ONLY the CRN number in the space provided, all other information will automatically be entered.
10. If you have any questions concerning the development of your schedule, please contact your Academic Advisor or the Counseling Center. Please note: students currently being advised through the BSC Advising Center as well as students who have not declared a major, must see their advisor to register.
