Tuition, Fees and Expenses

All payments for tuition and fees must be made in advance or on the day of registration. Registration will not be considered complete until after payment of all obligations has been made. Checks, money orders, or approved personal checks should be made payable to Bluefield State College for the exact amount of the obligation. The following credit cards can be used to pay tuition and fees: MasterCard, Visa, and Discover.

The maximum fee for students registered for on-campus and off-campus courses during the same term will be the full-time on-campus fee. Students pay fees according to their residency at the time of admission to Bluefield State College. There are three schedules of fees: In-state, Border County, and Out-of-state. Border County fees apply to those students whose place of residence is in a county which borders on and touches West Virginia. These counties include: Virginia—Frederick, Shenandoah, Rockingham, Augusta, Highland, Bath, Alleghany, Craig, Giles, Bland, Tazewell, and Buchanan; Maryland— Garrett, Allegany, and Washington; Ohio—Columbiana, Jefferson, Belmont, Monroe, Washington, Athens, Meigs, Gallia, and Lawrence; Pennsylvania—Beaver, Washington, Greene, and Fayette; and Kentucky—Boyd, Lawrence, Martin, and Pike.

Tuition, fees and expense schedules are published annually and are available in the Business Office and from the Office for Academic Affairs.

AND/OR BLUEFIELD STATE COLLEGE BOARD OF GOVERNORS.

Late Registration Fee

Any student who has not completed registration and paid registration fees by the end of the day designated as Last Day for Registration and Payment of Fees will be considered a late registrant and will be charged a late registration fee of $30.00. Any exception occasioned by an irregular registration must be approved by the Registrar.

Special Fees

All students enrolled in Nursing A.S., B.S,  LPN to RN. Programs and Radiology Technology will be assessed a Health Science Programmatic fee. A.S.N. is $400 each Fall & Spring semesters. B.S.N. is $15 per credit hour, for upper level nursing classes. Radiology is $175 each semester -  Summer (I & II), Fall & Spring. The LPN to RN Program Annual Fee of $500 is assessed in the summer.

All classes with a prefix of ARET, CIET, COSC, ELET, ENGR, MIET, and MEET and some BUSN will be assessed a $15 per credit hour lab fee.   Classes with a prefix of BIOL, CHEM, PHYS, PHSC, NASC, ENSC, GNET will have a $15 per credit hour programmatic fee.,

Information Technology Certification Training will have a $10 per credit hour fee.   WEB-CT/CART Web classes are $20 per credit hour. Business Programmatic/Accreditation fee is $60 per semester for business majors.  The Education Accreditation fee for education majors is $10.  The RBA portfolio fee of $300 and $10 per credit hour posting fees are charged  when portfolios are submitted.  There is an Instructional Television fee of $20.00.  In addition there is a $20.00 technology fee for all degree seeking students.

            Special Fees are NOT REFUNDABLE except when a class is canceled by the college.

withdraw from the college. No refunds will be made because
